Boulder Basics

A great introduction to bouldering technique

This casual drop in class is for anybody climbing our green - teal levels looking to form a solid technical foundation on which to progress their climbing. Or if you’ve been wanting to try bouldering but you’d like a helping hand on your first visit, this is a great option for you.

The 90 minute session will cover key concepts that underpin good climbing technique. Participants will practice these techniques on and off the wall with personalised feedback and an open question session.

The class is $35 on top of gym entry with a maximum of 6 participants. Available at Alexandria, Waterloo and Chatswood.

Intermediate | Teal & Pink


$150 for 5 weeks

If you're climbing in the teal & pink and feeling like you’ve hit a bit of a wall with your climbing, these classes are for you!

With each week focusing on a different topic, we’ll break down movement fundamentals, route reading, and simple training methods to help you build better technique and keep progressing.

Time & Location:
6pm - 7:30pm on either Mondays or Fridays at our Waterloo gym. Capped at 6 participants.

Preparation:
Please arrive early enough to check into the gym beforehand. Your coach, Pat, will meet you near the front desk at 6pm.

Cost:
$150 for the 5 week program. Gym entry and shoe hire not included.

Advanced | Red & Black


$150 for 5 weeks

These classes take a deeper look at technique and movement: progressively develop your skills and gain a better understanding of how and why movement works on the wall.

Advanced classes are ideal for those who are currently working on reds and blacks and want to climb with more confidence and control, working to turn effort into efficient, repeatable movement.

7:45pm - 9:15pm on either Mondays or Fridays at our Waterloo gym. Capped at 6 participants.

Preparation:

Youth | Social


$600 per term

A space for our younger climbers (ages 12–17) to learn the fundamentals of climbing while building confidence and making lifelong friends. These classes are designed to develop strength, technique, and self-belief both on and off the wall, in a supportive and fun environment.

This class is also a pathway for our upcoming Youth Comp class, for which we are taking expressions of interest.

Time & Location:
4:30pm - 5:30pm on both Tuesdays and Fridays at our Waterloo gym. Classes follow the school term, with the first class on Tuesday, Feb 3rd.

Cost:
$600 per term, capped at 8 participants. Gym entry and shoe hire not included.

Jack Masel

With over 15 years climbing experience and a background in both personal training and as a climbing guide, as well as his more recent work as a routesetter, Jack's unique combination of skills and experience help him provide practical advice that can be tailored specifically for you.

Initial assessments are recommended for 90 minutes ($100) with subsequent 60 minute ($80) follow ups as requested.

Patrick Anglim

Patrick is a bouldering-focused climbing coach with over 5 years of climbing experience and 3 years of coaching across a wide range of levels — from first-time climbers to national competitors.

He enjoys breaking down movement and helping climbers build skills that transfer across styles and grades. Whether supporting beginners or refining performance at a high level, Patrick tailors his coaching to encourage confident, long-term progression.

x 9 Degrees

We’re proud to be offering a series of climbing classes for our LGBTQ+ community in partnership with ClimbingQTs and Arc’teryx .

Classes run on the third Wednesday of each month from 6-8pm at Waterloo. They are free to join and there is no booking required. To take part, head over to the front desk at 6pm to meet your instructor and fellow attendees. Classes are capped at 8 to ensure that adequate time and attention can be given to each person.

Each month will focus on a different skill and all classes are open to every level of experience, beginners and intermediate climbers welcome.
