This is not something we ever wanted to write, but after eight amazing years, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of 9 Degrees Lane Cove.

Our last day of trading will be Friday, November 13th, 2026.

Unfortunately, our landlord has made the decision not to renew our lease, and will be taking the space back for their own use. We’ve tried our best to find a way to stay in Lane Cove, but despite our efforts, our landlord has been firm in their decision.

It is incredibly sad to be saying goodbye to a gym that has been home to so many people for so long. From the whole 9D team, we have so much gratitude for the staff and community that together built a space that we have been so proud of. Thank you to everyone who has climbed there, worked there, celebrated milestones, and brought so much life and joy into a humble warehouse.

We won’t miss the carpark, the stacks of pallets, or the freezing winter mornings, but we will miss seeing all of you topping boulders and making memories. On our last day of trading, before we put the roller door down for the last time, we’ll be hosting an evening farewell event and we would love for you all to join us in closing the Lane Cove chapter on the best note possible.

General Closure FAQ

Our lease has come to an end. Although we actively sought to renew our lease and stay in the space, we were unable to do so because our landlord requires the premises for their own operations.
If you’re a regular you’ll likely be familiar with the ever growing stack of pallets around our front door - this is all overflow stock from their warehouse next door.
We also want to clarify that closing Lane Cove wasn't related to opening 9 Degrees Chatswood. Our landlord choosing not to renew the lease at Lane Cove came after Chatswood was already open, and we never intended for one to replace the other.
While we have no plans to directly replace Lane Cove, we are always looking for new sites.
The Lane Cove team will be re-homed within the other 9D locations, primarily Chatswood, so you’ll still see them around the gyms!
Yes! Please join us for our last evening of trading on Friday the 13th of November.

We’ll be hosting a farewell event at the gym with speeches, food, drinks and a special last hurrah reset - full roof traverse, anyone? We’ll release more info about the event via social media in the weeks leading up.

Memberships & 10 Passes

All 9 Degrees entry types are valid at all of our gyms so you’ll be able to continue climbing as normal at our other locations with no action required.
After Lane Cove closes, all direct debit members who have their billing linked to Lane Cove will be prompted to update their subscription at the front desk of the next 9 Degrees location they visit.
This is an easy process and will take a few moments at the front desk.
Absolutely, you can still use your gift card online or at any of our other locations.
