welcome to b-pump sessions!

9 Degrees & Arcteryx are partnering up to bring something special to Sydney! We're hosting two very special guests all the way from B-PUMP bouldering gyms in Japan to help us put on a huge Japanese inspired competition!

Together with Katsu Miyazawa and Tsukuru Hori we'll be setting and hosting B-PUMP Sessions! A competition for climbers of all levels. The event will be split into 4 'pumpfest' heats where you'll have two and a half hours to climb your top 6 scoring boulders for our Open A category or your top 8 scoring boulders for all other categories. The top 6 athletes will be invited to compete in a World Cup style finals spectacle from 630pm while the other categories will podium from their pumpfest scores at the conclusion of the evening.

Our first guest, Katsu Miyazawa is the owner of the famous B-PUMP Ogikubo and the coach of Japanese competition all stars Tomoa Narasaki and Miho Nonaka

Our second guest, Tsukuru Hori is the head setter for BPUMP Ogikubo, an official IFSC route setter and the first ever Japanese athlete to win a Boulder World Cup!

HOW DO I ENTER THE COMPETITION

Simply follow the ticketing link HERE and secure yourself a time slot. The 'Sessions' will be two and a half hours long each and you'll see that reflected in the available time-slots. When checking in on the day you'll be required to self select your category on the FingerComps App. Categories aren't locked to particular times slots so you can pick a session time that's convenient for you!

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

Each session will act as what's commonly referred to as a 'pumpfest' which simply means that you'll have the whole duration of the 2.5 hour session to climb the 6 (for open A) or 8 (for the other categories) highest scoring boulders you can, scoring a small point bonus for a flash. The top 6 ranked open A athletes will progress to a world cup style finals spectacle between 630 and 830pm. Boulders will be self-scored on the Fingercomps App.
